Guided by the experienced and talented Ministry of Sound spinner, Spencer Broughton, the company has quietly and steadily grown into one of the UK’s leading supplier of upfront records, with many a hot record starting life on the mean streets of South London. Despite the many challenges facing the industry in recent times, Prime Direct has steadfastly kept faith in the 12” vinyl format, the very foundation of club culture today. There have been many challenges in that time, with retailers having to adapt quickly to those changes in order to survive. From questions posed by the internet, to now the debates surrounding new formats, we have undoubtedly entered a new age for music distribution.

Central to everything is of course the music, and we have worked hard to develop the roster of artists and labels to reflect that. We handle the distribution exclusively throughout the world for some of the biggest and best names on the dance music scene; check the labels section for a run down. But we are not simply about the big names; some of the brightest hopes for tomorrow can be found honing their craft, comfortably mingling with the established acts. We are interested in broadening the range of styles we distribute, to encompass a wider choice of genres, as well as the increasing the formats these are delivered on. After all, diversity is what has kept the spirit of house music alive and well two decades on. PDD has extensive reach across the UK, servicing record stores country-wide, encompassing the chain stores, key specialists and independent retailers.
